How can IP Multicasting benefit broadcasters?

IP Multicast is a unique aspect of IP Networking technology that provides “one – to – many” communications between a source IP host and numerous subscriber IP hosts. The use of IP Multicast for delivery of real-time media content often finds widespread use in the broadcast facility. The SBE is offering a webinar, presented by Wayne Pecena, to help broadcasters learn more about IP Multicast. Learn more

Interested in learning how to build an IP network infrastructure for your TV or Radio station? This webinar will help –

The IP Networking webinar series continues with part 5 focusing on “Building the KSBE Network”, by applying the concepts addressed in the first 4 parts of the IP Networking Webinar series. The end result of this webinar will be an understanding of how to build an IP network infrastructure often found in a broadcast environment. The “KSBE Network” will address layered IP network design, application of an IP addressing plan, use of VLAN’s, routing protocols, securing the network, and access to the network through a secure VPN connection. Thanks to Wayne Pecena for presenting this series! More Info

Just how big is the IPv6 address space?

340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456 addresses to be exact.  Hear more about IPv6 during the Webinar by SBE on IP Networking, part 4 – IPv6, taking place February 21, 2013.

Just as IPv4 addressing can be challenging when managing limited IP address space, IPv6 brings new challenges when working with enormous IP address space. A new mindset is required to effectively understand and implement IPv6 in your network. New IPv6 features and capabilities also bring challenges to the broadcast network engineer.

This webinar is the fourth in a series that aids in the self-study for the SBE Certified Broadcast Networking Engineer™ (CBNE™) certification exam.

IP Networking Webinar Series continues with the Fundamentals of IPv6

Just as IPv4 addressing can be challenging when managing limited IP address space, IPv6 brings new challenges when working with enormous IP address space. This webinar, which takes place on February 21, 2013, builds upon the brief introduction to IPv6 terminology presented in the third webinar of the series held in January 2013.

More Info

What education are you looking for in the coming year?

As I plan the webinars and courses SBE would like to offer in the coming year,  I thought what better way to find out what our members would like to know more about than to ask them!

Next year we are planning to release a systems integration course, an advanced course on computer networking,  several webinars on IP networking, and a webinar on FCC enforcement actions.  Comment on this post to let us know what else you would like offered in the way of a webinar, online course, or live seminar. You can leave your comment by clicking on the bubble to the right of the title.
